Mobile While Mobile - Law Changes from 27th February 2007

From 27th February, the penalty for the existing offences of using a handheld mobile phone while driving a vehicle and for failing to have proper control of a vehicle is to be increased to include three penalty points and a £60 fixed penalty fine.

Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006

These Regulations bring together the three previous sets of Regulations covering the prohibition of asbestos, the control of asbestos at work and asbestos licensing.

Construction Design & Management Regulations 2007

The new CDM regulations are on track for next April. The new Regulations are to be signed off in November and the ACoP issued in January next year. So it's full steam ahead then!

HSE Accident Figures

Falls are the biggest cause of deaths in Britain's workplaces. 53 people died in 2004/5. On top of this, nearly 3,800 suffered major injury such as broken bones or fractured skulls.

You don't have to fall far to be hurt, 7 deaths and 2247 major injuries were from a fall

The UK Government has announced that new Fire Regulations will come into force on 1st October 2006
